01 / The records behind a listed panel

A panel is only as listed
as its paperwork.

Select a record to see what it holds, and where the paperwork goes wrong. Each step also shows what it costs you.

STEP 1 OF 6

Job data

WHAT HAPPENS

Voltage, phase, enclosure, environment and the job’s own requirements are gathered from the order and the design.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

Data lives in several places, and the copies do not always agree.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Senior hours. Hours that could go to design and review.

STEP 2 OF 6

Component data

WHAT HAPPENS

Each component’s ratings and listings are recorded from the BOM and the supplier’s data.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

A substituted part carries different ratings and the record still shows the old one.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Rework after approval. Documents reissued, and confidence reduced.

STEP 3 OF 6

Short-circuit rating

WHAT HAPPENS

The panel’s short-circuit current rating is documented from the components and the way they are combined.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

A rating is copied from a previous job and no longer matches the build.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Stale rating. A record that does not match what was built.

STEP 4 OF 6

Wire and protection records

WHAT HAPPENS

Conductor sizes and protective devices are recorded against what they serve.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

A late wiring change is made and the record is not updated.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Missing record. The review stops and the panel waits.

STEP 5 OF 6

Nameplate and markings

WHAT HAPPENS

The nameplate and markings are prepared from the verified data.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

The nameplate says one thing and the build says another.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Wrong nameplate. Rework on a finished panel.

STEP 6 OF 6

Review and records

WHAT HAPPENS

Your qualified personnel review the complete package, correct it and approve it.

WHERE IT GOES WRONG

The review finds problems late, and the panel is waiting.

WHAT IT COSTS YOU

Review delay. Review time is spent on paperwork, not on judgement.

02 / How it works

The drafting is mechanical. The judgement is yours, and it stays yours.

  1. Read the job data

The approved BOM, the job record and your own templates are loaded.

  2. Prepare the documents

Drafts are filled on your templates, with each value linked to its source.

  3. List what is missing

Missing, inconsistent or unsupported items are listed for your team.

  4. Your qualified person approves

Your qualified personnel check, correct and approve everything before it is used.

03 / How we work with you

A 4–6 week pilot on your own work.
A subscription only once it is proven.

We agree the scope and the definition of done, and sign the NDA together. We run the pilot on your own data and keep refining it until it meets that definition. Your annual subscription starts only after you sign off the result.

  1. 01START · AGREE THE SCOPE

    Agreed up front, in writing.

We sign the NDA and agree the scope together: one workflow, the success measures and exactly what done looks like. Only then do any drawings or prices change hands.

  2. 02DURING · 4–6 WEEK PILOT

    On your own data.

We run the pilot beside your live work, so nothing you rely on changes. One panel type, your existing documentation templates and a past job to reproduce.

  3. 03END · SIGN-OFF

Refined until it meets the bar.

A short report against the success measures you set. If it falls short, we refine and run it again until it meets the definition of done.

  4. 04AFTER · SUBSCRIPTION

    Starts at sign-off.

One annual subscription per workflow covers running it, support and improvements. You already know it works on your own data, so this is not an experiment.

How you are protected. The pilot has a bounded scope and success measures agreed before it starts. Concerns about your data, or about how our two teams will work together, are tested against those measures. At the end you decide whether to go on, and the subscription starts only after you sign off.

Why work with us

Why panel shops
work with us.

Your data stays yours. The workflow gets better every year, for you and for everyone we work with.

Your data stays yours

Your drawings, prices and quotes are covered by the NDA and are never shared with other shops. Access, storage and deletion are agreed up front.

You get the best of every shop

What we learn about the work itself, the common gaps and the checks that catch them, goes back into the product. You benefit from it without anyone seeing your data.

It keeps getting better

We keep refining the format, the checks and the results throughout the year. Improvements to your workflow are included in your subscription.

You see it work first

The pilot runs on your own quotes against a definition of done you set. You subscribe once you have signed off the result.

We run it. You decide.

We set it up, run it and support it. Your team reviews and approves everything that reaches a customer.

MISMATCH

A value on the draft nameplate differs from the verified component data.

Scope, input, output and boundaries
Input

Approved BOM and job data

Output

Draft documentation on your own templates, and a list of missing items

Your review

Your qualified personnel check and approve all compliance documentation

Pilot

One panel type, your existing documentation templates and a past job to reproduce.

What we measure

Completeness against your approved reference, missing items found and preparation time.

Boundary

Compliance assessment and certification stay with your qualified personnel and UL. We prepare documents; we do not assess or certify compliance.

05 / Questions

What buyers ask
before they start.

Can AI prepare UL 508A panel documentation?

It can prepare drafts from your job data, such as the bill of materials, so that your team starts from a filled-in pack instead of a blank one. Your qualified people check everything.

Does AI make a panel UL 508A compliant?

No. Compliance depends on the design, the components, the construction and your shop’s own UL programme. The workflow prepares paperwork; it does not certify a panel or replace inspection.

What goes into a UL 508A documentation pack?

Typically circuit diagrams, a bill of materials, layout and wiring documents, a short-circuit current rating (SCCR) calculation record, component listing evidence, and the panel label and records. Our guide in Insights sets out a checklist.

Does AI calculate short-circuit current rating (SCCR)?

SCCR is determined by your engineers using the method in the standard. This workflow is about preparing the paperwork from job data for your team to check, not replacing the calculation or the review.

Who checks the documentation before it is used?

Your qualified panel engineer reviews and approves it. Anything the workflow is unsure of is flagged, and nothing is treated as final until a person signs it off.
